Section 230 is our generation's Second Amendment Issue

In my new article, I break down why we must end immunity for algorithmic amplification and how we can begin to fix the internet we broke. I’d love for you to read it and share your thoughts.

I am ABC 15 Studios to participate in a 2 hour panel discussion on education. Four panels - early education, K-12, higher education, and the future of education. I’ll let you guess what panel I’m on…

I’ll report out on my experience and of course share all the content that comes out of this event.

Today was Azella's first day of school. As I drove her to school, we talked about expectations for the year and I shared some of the questions I’ll be asking her teacher during our first parent teacher conference.

School in AZ starts on Monday. I’ve been concerned about how we use report cards to measure student success. Given the world our students face in the future, I wrote about why we need to be measuring human skills at a deeper level. What gets measured gets done. open.substack.com/pub/jcasap/p...

On this day in 1984, the drinking age went from 18 to 21. I was 17. Was I disappointed? I was growing up in NYC and didn't know what a "legal drinking age" law was! I could walk into any store or any bar and get a drink. I didn't know you had to be 21 until 1987 when I went to college!

I just wrote the following article on Medium and SubStack. We need to start teaching kids how to use technology. No, they don't "already know how to use tech." Doom scrolling to brain rot is not the same thing as being a digital leader, as I argue we REALLY need!

Why would Republican members of the House and Senate vote for a bill their constituents will hate. They will clearly feel the social and economic impact of this legislation. They will see how it only benefits the super rich.

Maybe they aren’t planning on holding any more elections…

Why are we assuming it was someone “impersonating a police officer?” Have we already ruled out it wasn’t an actual police officer? @nytimes.com what is the evidence it wasn’t a police officer?
A man impersonating a police officer assassinated a Democratic state legislator in Minnesota, Gov. Tim Walz said on Saturday, and killed the lawmaker’s husband. The assailant also shot and injured another Democratic lawmaker and his wife, officials said. nyti.ms/4jRTrvw

Anyone know who this guy is? He should run for President. He has some progressive ideas on immigration reform! Undocumented workers who have been here for a long time and add value to our communities and economy. They should be left alone if not given a path to citizenship! This guy makes sense.
