Yeah, LUG is just a series in the Velvet line. It’s thinner in consistency but SUPER pigmented, so I that was key to the results. Also, the reason I bisque on the line work is so the black won’t smear when I apply the watercolor-y layers. And, you’re so welcome, just gotta keep experimenting!

Not exactly, underglaze can be applied at greenware or bisque and will pretty much stay exactly as you apply it. Closest thing to paint in ceramics. I applied the black LUG (vs regular Velvet) with a squeeze bottle, so since that meant way more concentrated pigment, that’s most likely the reason.

Thanks so much! Not that I’m aware of, I just love to experiment with surfaces on my end. For this one I used Amaco’s LUG series black for the line work at leatherhard, Velvets watered down like watercolors after bisque, and just a full dip in a studio clear.

Yes, so gorgeous! I camped there over the weekend. Top ten favorite spots. Secluded and literally right on the coast. Lil chilly, but worth it! 🌲🌊

I’ll do my best! I was never on Twitter or X, just fb and IG, so there’s a bit of a learning curve. Appreciate your advice!
