Digital Assets Endure US$1bn Outflows Amid Hawkish FOMC, Yet Overall Inflows Persist

We have just ;ublished out 2025 Digital Asset Outlook. Focussing primareily on Bitcoin and bitcoin miners but also Ethereum & Solana.

Bitcoin is literally eating Gold's market share - currently at 10%. ETF inflows are at US$35bn for Bitcoin and only US$122m for Gold.

Last week saw total inflows in to Digital Asset and Bitcoin ETPs of US$3.12bn, the largest on record, bringing YTD inflows to US$37bn, far outpacing golds first ETF launch in 2005 of US$209m.

This chart, based on derivatives data from Deribit, highlight how much of technical and pschycological level US$100k Bitcoin is.

Digital Assets, mostly due to Bitcoin price rises, have seen total assets under management hit US$150bn for the first time ever.

While hashprices are rising to the highest level post-halving, hashrate is also rising to all-time-highs, meaning there is less bitcoin to share amongst the miners.

As on X, I will now regularly post on Bitcoin and digital asset fund flows. Last week saw huge inflows but the last 2 days prompted outflow when the bitcoin price closed in on all time highs. This week we are seeing a recovery of positive sentiment with in flows of US$750m so far.
