Back in '22 in a fantasy league, I watched one guy have an existential crisis on the waiver wire with Mike Williams - he picked up and dropped him three times in a week. No one else bothered to try to claim him - we were too enthralled by the indecision to interfere.

I heard Wallen's music described as "depression anthems" by someone recently, and now I can't place him in any other context. It's music for people who want to feel nothing but need background noise.

Most men I know haven't read a full novel since high school, so this isn't a new phenomenon anecdotally. Today's pop fiction is slanted towards BookSky/Tok uptake, and "typical man" isn't looking for "spicy" books about fae or dragons. There are engaging genre reads out there though, even for guys.
