Don't conservatives often argue that we shouldn't do anything about our emissions until China does?

Analysis: Clean energy just put China’s CO2 emissions into reverse for first time - Carbon Brief
For the first time, the growth in China’s clean power generation has caused the nation’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to fall despite rapid power demand growth.

Does anyone want "ai" embedded in gmail to write emails for you? Does anyone want to receive an email from someone that they didn't actually write? The only use cases for ai in email I can think of: 1. spam detection, 2. categorization

My pixel 6a has become practically unusable this am. Swipe gestures don't really work anymore. It is impossible to swipe down twice to the full settings menu. Impossible to swipe up twice to close an app. Weird because it doesn't look like it took an update last night but it had rebooted.

As a former Google employee I am happy to see this article. I did internal activism when I learned Google was contracting with oil and gas companies because that violated the AI principles. Now those principles have been deleted.

“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”

“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” #CityMakingMath

Some costs aren’t costs.
One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss
Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

Ignoring this or pretending it isn't true is a civilization ending strategy. I keep hearing the voice of a climate activist who said (while being arrested):

"What will we tell our children when they ask us why we didn't do anything to stop this while we still had time?"
