Today it was a pleasure to host an exhibition in the Senedd by Newport resident Barbara Mcloughlin.

The exhibition - Lest We Forget - marks Remembrance Day with photographs taken from across Newport and South Wales.

Research by @rspcaoffficial.bsky.social shows that 66% of animals, domestic and wildlife, are negatively impacted by private fireworks displays.

Animals can be fearful of the sight and or sound of fireworks, with many pet owners dreading this time of year.

£470,000 has been invested in Newport so far this year as part of the Welsh Labour Government's Flexible Skills Programme.

Glad to hear the Minister highlight Bisley in the Senedd yesterday. The company has been supported to undertake training across their departments.

Following a public consultation, the NHS complaints process in Wales will be significantly strengthened.

The new approach introduces a two stage complaints resolution process to replace the current Putting Things Right system.

Welsh Government have announced extra funding of £50,000 to Newport City Council to help older people stay connected and active.

The new funding will support an Age Friendly Officer to help coordinate activities and raise the profile of older people across the City.

A recognised centre of excellence in the handling of steel, the Port of Newport also handles dry bulks, forest products and renewable energy cargoes. It handles over1.8 million tonnes of cargo every year.

The Docks have been part of the fabric of Newport for nearly 200 years.

Over the years it’s been the home to a variety of businesses and employed thousands of people.

Over the summer I made the trip to Aldeburgh in Suffolk.

My great-grandfather Edward Bryant was born in Pill. He worked in the gas works in Shaftesbury for 15 years before he joined the Royal Fusiliers during WW1.

Really glad to see this free initiative by Dragons RFC and Hedyn for young people to give rugby a try in Bettws.

It’s at Y Sifil every Monday between 5-6pm.
