It's time to prioritize wellness from a biopsychosocial perspective & stop with the patchwork where people fall through the cracks. This means, prioritizing prevention over waiting to intervene when people are already sick.

We don't need to throw more money at this or that, we need to peel back the curtain and look fundamentally at how our system is operating and where it needs to be better.

Seems that way, at least in the last 30 years or so. The further Southwest you go in Ontario, the more likely you are to find people who consume mostly American news and media, which certainly contributes.

Our leaders need to pay close attention to this election and make sure they’re addressing people’s real needs. Our future depends on it.

Today, I’m grateful to live in Canada, in a democracy, but we shouldn’t get too comfortable. We share more than a border with the U.S.—we share similar (though different) values and culture.

Americans keep hearing about billions going to foreign conflict, which are incredibly important, but many feel it’s time to focus more on home. That shift is worrying when thinking about the influence of countries like China, Russia, and India gaining more influence on the world stage.

There are more auto jobs in the United States today than at any point in Trump's first term - but people are feeling the pinch, and the Democrats failed to communicate their progress and accomplishments.

This result shows that doing the work isn't enough if people don't understand it or know about it - Biden's administration invested nearly $4 trillion into the United States and passed some of the most significant legislation in years.

Politicians need to do a better job addressing these basic concerns. People want to know their politicians are "working for them" (even if they don't believe they are).

I don’t think this is the core of Trump’s support. Especially since he got more support in 2024 as a share of the total votes than in either 2016 or 2020. Issues like abortion, democracy, and foreign policy are all important, but if you can’t afford gas or food, other things are less important.

No matter how they feel about Trump himself, his message struck a chord. There is no question that parts of Trump’s support is from some people that like the casual sexism and racism - longing for a time when people could speak more freely and target others with their words and actions.

I think it is easy to say that people embraced Trump’s sexism, racism, and nastiness, but I think that is both false and lazy analysis. I don’t think most people support his nastiness, his hate, or his crude attitude. I think people are struggling, scared, and hurting.

Trump won a fair election and acknowledging this is important. It was likely the most expensive election in United States history and he won. Trump won pretty decisively considering how split the polls showed the American voters were between him and Vice-President Harris.

Countries like China and Russia, along with other authoritarian powers, will be bolder now to challenge the international consensus around economics and democracy.

Connection is essential for human survival. Loneliness kills us in ways most people don't understand.
