I used Schachenmayr Regia 8-ply. It's 75% superwash wool and 25% polyamide. I don't know whether they make it anymore l, though. I had gotten a bag of five 150g balls from Little Knits (they're on line) some years ago. Good luck!

My husband's feet are Size 12! I used an 8-ply sock yarn on US 4 needles and it took more than 150g of the yarn!
