Middle aged midwesterner just trying to survive the trumpster fire.
Sure we have neat gadgets, but we still use coal and oil, women and non-whites are still second class citizens, measles is still a thing, polio is still a thing, people still starve in the streets, child labors still a thing. Imagine how mind blowing that would be for them.

Like i feel like there was a time when i would watch people play with toys or eat food and smile and think “good for them”, but maybe that was just a dream.
