The real issue here is that ANY medical device can get cleared without testing. The rate for AIMDs is worse than "normal," but the normal rate is pretty god awful as well.

Another case of AI making existing problems worse.

Shrug indeed. When you give people the ability to say "the computer did it," they are more likely to engage in unethical behavior. Shocking, I know!
