NGC 7635 (C 11) - The Bubble Nebula.
An emission nebula ~7100 ly from Earth. The 7 ly wide bubble is formed by stellar winds from a 45 solar mass star. The young, 4My old, star will likely go to Supernova in ~10My!!

IC 5070 - The Pelican Nebula (although it looks more like a pterodactyl to me). It is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus located about 1800 light years away.

M 20 - The Trifid Nebula. A star forming region in Sagittarius. I can't see this from my house, but had an opportunity on a cloudy night in a bortle 2 location. This is only 50 subs. I'd love to try again!!

I was messing around with longer exposures on my #seestars50 in equitorial mode. This is M 3, a globular cluster of about 500,000 stars ~33,000 ly away.
112x20 sec subs processed with #Siril 1.4 (now on to 30+ subs as most subs were retained)

M81 & M82: Bodes & Cigar Galaxies
Located in Ursa Major, M81 is a spiral galaxy at ~11.8 million LY. M82 is an irregular galaxy at ~ the same distance.
The galaxies are gravitationally locked which affects the shape & composition of each.

Caldwell 49 - The Rosette Nebula. This star forming region is about 5000 light years from Earth and is illuminated by the bright, hot, young stars you see in the middle (NGC 2244).

M 42 - the Orion Nebula, the middle star of Orion's sword. It is one of the most photographed objects in the night sky. It is the closest star forming region to earth - only 1300 light years away. It is about 25 light years across.

NGC 891 - The Silver Sliver Galaxy. This galaxy is ~30 million light years away and is about the same size and shape as the Milky Way. It is thought that this is what we look like edge on.

My first run at M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy. I have to see it through trees and streetlamps from my place!! I hope to get more exposures to clean up the noise over time. M51 is about 31 million light-years from Earth.

A time lapse of tonight's occultation of Mars by the Moon. Keep an eye on the dot in the lower left as the moon moves in front of it. The dot then reappears to the upper right of the moon. The dot is Mars - bright enough to be seen against the full moon.
