I have a wife, a kid, and I play tabletop game.
Big month with Origins. Not a LOT of games played but a fun variety.

Highlights:

Re;MATCH - 2-player game inspired by puzzle fighter video games, uses a marble grid.

Panda Royale - dice drafting roll and write

Quiet House - partial information, no communication, cooperative puzzle.

I attended Origins Game Fair and got in a respectable number of games played.

Highlights:

Re;MATCH - the vibe of Bullet and Potion Explosion with an arcade fighter theme.

Quiet House - deductive co-op - rearrange 5 items in a room to meet the 8 random rules, of which each player only knows 4 of.

Remember the raffle? Yea, the kid won the lightsaber she put 12 or so tickets on.

She then won a $20 gift card to a FLGS

and a set of polyhedral dice with mushrooms in them

and someone run up and just gave her a free game

Also got a miniature

and a mood ring

and a pirate gave her a gold coin.

Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade

Power Vacuum
Typeset
Solforge Fusion KS Starter set, 5 KS boosters, and 2 neoprene mats

Then I set up to play some games with a guy I regularly meetup with at Origins. We played Quiet House and Bag of Chips before we played a three player game of Cities.

Quiet House was amazing. I want to play more of it.

Cities didn't blow me away, but it certainly isn't bad. It is... approachable.

Kutna Hora is great. The action selection mechanism with the two use cards add enough restrictions that deciding which 5 action combination is just slightly, enjoyably agonizing.

Also, its snappy, but will take some time at the table none the less.

I fell off the wagon painting. Honestly, the kid became a lot more erratic with her nighttime routine which ate into my "everyone is resting, time to paint" time. Plus, I got more tired.

Also I was playing a lot of solo Marvel United in there as well.

Anyways, nothing fancy just 3 more barricades.

(2/3)

The Guild of Merchant Explorers checks a lot of boxes for me with its growth and contraction flow to the game and solo capability.

Daybreak I wasn't rushing to play (theme, while hopeful, feels far removed from reality right now) but the engine building in it is a fantastic puzzle.

Three in person game days, some solo games at the home and a lot of games played on board game arena (solo and 2-player).

Standouts:

Pandemic - my most played game this month and I still love this game after 15 years. It was the game that hooked me on the hobby in the first place.

Almost got to 200 unique games played this year.

No surprise that the top games are my idle/background solo game staples from BGA.

A great year of games. I'll probably do a top 10 new to me games list here soon to put a button on last year's game tracking.

A few more.

Two more barricades, this time in a brown and yellow scheme, and a knight with a slight tweak on the scheme I painted previously.

Two more minis!

A kobold with a big sword and a sci-fi barricade for Star Wars Legion, but I'm going to use it for SW Shatterpoint. A different scale but not so much that I'm going to sweat it too much.

My most recent two.

The archer I feel works but I'm not really happy with it.

The swordsman on the other hand, I am very happy with. I got a lot of depth in the fabric. Using a toothpick I was about to really touch on some details that I can't paint with a brush (studs, cross, lower lip).

More Minis!!

I'm nearing the end of my "get minis for Frostgrave". I have just about everything I need to cover my current preferred warband, and then some.

As another aside on painting minis.

I have been using a brush on black primer then dry brushing some white to give some subtle highlights under my colors.

And I kind of love the way the minis look at that stage. I may do just this for monster/NPC types.

I almost forgot this trio.

I got these for Frostgrave, where your warband is mostly generic hirelings

I have dups of each of sculpt, so I decided to paint one set with one color scheme and I will use a different scheme for the second set to easily distinguish between crossbowman 1 and 2.

And here are my three latest paint jobs. The robed fella (Mr. bones, the mascot of the first reaper Kickstarter) and the zombie are both from my pile of Bones minis while the swordsman is another offering from Next Level Minis.

Here are some more that I have painted recently. After the minis in the first post of this thread, I decided to go big and paint people minis.

The halfling and the wizard are Reaper Bones minis.

The toad and cloaked cleric are from next level minis.

So I have gotten back into table top miniatures games over the past year (Shatterpoint and Frostgrave) and I've started to actually paint a pile of Bones minis I got from Reaper's first Kickstarter.

Here are the first minis I have painted in 15+ years.

Wish I could have stayed longer!

Got in some killer no filler kitschy goodness.

Busy month in July!

Highlights:

I finally completed my second run though the Jump Drive solo campaign.

Things in Rings is a big hit everytime I pull it out.

Arcs is fantastic.

GI Joe DBG is great.

Huang is a top 5 Knizia for me.

Sky Team holds up playing face to face.

Imperium 👍👍

Lots of games in June this year thanks to BGA, TTS, and Origins Game Fair.

Highlights:

Seaside, Things in Rings, Knight Fall and Tangram City were fun enough for me to buy them after playing them at Origins.

Imperium Horizons is a chonky civ builder masquerading as a deck builder. ❤️ it.

32 uniques games played in May, the majority of which were not solo!

I'm pleased with the spread of games.

Francis Drake, Enemy Anemone, Super Fantasy Brawl and Castles of Burgundy are my highlights for the month.

A good number of games played this month considering I have been hip deep in moving mode.

A lot of solo games this month, but multiplayer standouts are The Shipwreck Arcana, The Vale of Eternity, MLEM, and Romi Rami.

Not pictured: Hens and Sushi Go!
