It was interesting to be in a (good) prez today re. AI lit-search tools in the health lib context, which is the frontier for all of this.
The presenters showed off some of the tools like OpenEvidence (www.openevidence.com) for ex.
Then, at presentation end, caveated about "citation faithfulness."

It's dissonant, to me, to be encouraging the automation of certain tasks (namely: reading) and, on the other hand, then cautioning about the (un)faithfulness of synthetic representations of works.
I dunno if that makes sense? The dissonance indexes a tension in contemporary knowledge production.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if students, scholars, etc actually had time to practice "slow scholarship," would instruction around "citation faithfulness" even be necessary?

My off the dome take: it's because Wallen and HARDY have so successfully ingested Drake's aesthetics, so, if you count those, there are still rap songs on the top 40, just not "rap" songs ... if that makes sense???
