On here I mostly complain about bad drivers
My Larry story- we were giving him a lab tour, BL2, and he brought a can of Diet Coke. He ended up carrying it all around the lab because we were all looking at each other like, “I’m not going to tell him, are you going to tell him?” So yes I’m a small part of the impunity industrial complex.

If ballot 8 in your example ranks MM 1 and someone with few votes 2 and no one 3-9, it will be exhausted after their 2 is eliminated. Seems odd that ballot is gone when they could have redistributed one that did rank 3-9, but I assume they don’t go back after 2 is out and change to a non-exhausted?

ballots though. I get that they skip redistributing an exhausted ballot without a next ranking, but if someone only ranks 3 people and is exhausted after two rounds I assume they don’t retrospectively go back to round 1 and not choose that ballot so still seems a little odd.

Yes, thanks- I see how you describe it as “random and deterministic” since the random order will always be the same for a given set of ballots. It is interesting that one additional voter would shift the redistribution though and that could affect the outcome. I’m still unclear about exhausted…

I posed this question on another thread- do you know how ballots over quota are chosen for reallocation? Is it in fact random and therefore non-deterministic?

Something I’ve never understood- are the transferred votes from candidates who are over quota randomly selected? In theory if you ran it again could that random selection change the final outcome? Do they prioritize transfer of ballots with more choices to minimize exhausted ballots?

All wheel drive! In the early days of e-bikes I put a hilltopper kit on a Madsen and the only time I had trouble was in the snow when the front wheel lost traction due to the motor. Otherwise felt like my subsequent rear hub bikes have.

This is also a classic “lying with graphs” technique. Take a gradient value, choose the max so it looks all-or-nothing, project onto unrelated delineations (borders). This map implies you flip some genetic and cultural switch when you cross imaginary lines placed by an accident of history.

What does it mean that 16 and 17 year olds can”pre-register”? Does that mean they can vote in municipal elections or just get on the roll to vote when they turn 18?
