I was given an unsolicited front row seat to these Woodpigeon shenanigans the other day. First he feeds her with crop milk and obtains permission - like yours. They both seemed pretty pleased with themselves afterwards.

Front row seat for a Woodpigeon courtship ritual (“sans gêne”, as they say): he feeds her with crop milk at her request , before proceeding with full consent. Both are very pleased with themselves afterwards.

Whiter than white - true feather treasure from the garden today: Woodcock tail feathers. The white tips on the underside are the brightest white ever recorded in a feather. I suspect the poor Woodcock came to a sad end though.
