Just finished proofreading 862 end notes (that's 72 pages of notes!). This author really did her homework. Time for a break before I start checking the layout: headers, headings, margins, bad breaks, orphans, widows . . . . I love my work!

Today I deleted over 10,000 unopened emails from a friend's inbox. She must be on just about everyone's list; she gets between 50 and 75 unwanted emails a day. She was so grateful, and I felt good being able to help her out. (She got MORE emails the last time she unsubscribed from lists she was on.)

I'm watching an old British TV series with the subtitles on because it often has characters who aren't speaking English. The captions are so very helpful: "Speaks Arabic," "Speaks Czech," "Speaks Italian." And the French is just written in French.🫤

Sigh. Yesterday I discovered plagiarism in the dissertation I'm editing. I contacted the client, but haven't gotten a response yet. At least the nonrefundable deposit covers the amount of editing I've done so far. #amediting #edibuddies
