I present to you- my lab as trees.
My students said we needed “more whimsy”, so we have it now. Great summer working in mussel physiology with these awesome students

Anyone want to do something fun? Help with species ID on these! I'm not freshwater mussel expert...
Found in a lake in Ohio -- man made, connected to Erie (kinda) and also to Ohio river (again, kinda)

Any ideas?

This is my format:
1. Set SMART goals for each category at start of term.
2. Write a reflective paragraph at midterm (and alter goals as needed)
3. Write a final reflection
It's pretty low stakes and takes little time but can be transformative in upping engagement and understanding!

Beyond work stuff- I play / coach ultimate. That’s fun. I also have a very cute ™️ dog. My wife is a physicist and fiction author. She’s way more interesting than her and her newest book drops tomorrow (pic of her and the book: @caseybergerbooks)

Anyway, welcome.
I’m Justin. I’m a professor (“visiting lecturer”) at Mount Holyoke. I teach biostats, coral reefs, ecophysiology, etc. I research acclimatization and local adaptation in marine inverts (mostly corals) under climate change. Here’s my student sectioning coral frags last week.
