I have a tendency to make my paintings darker than I like. I’ve found that leaving some white in the sky and using cobalt as my primary blue helps to lighten things up a bit. Colors: cobalt blue, alizarin, raw sienna, burnt sienna, green gold + ultramarine. Brushes:hake, 6, 2. See ALT. #watercolor

My watercolor from today. It’s a method I learned from mattangelldesigns on Instagram. First, make a “C” shaped or “Z” shaped multiple color wash for the sky and land, leaving one or two large patches of white. When dry, use small brushes for the details. #watercolour
