Excellent collaboration with Zhibo Liu at Peking U and my PhD supervisor C.-J. Li at McGill. In this work, we play with water and gamma-light, and achieve the cross-dehydrogenative Minisic reaction. Many late-stage functionalization examples of drug-like molecules.
This study describes a novel approach for cross-dehydrogenative oxyalkylation, leveraging a unique γ-ray-enabled photoredox process to generate oxyalkyl radicals, followed by a Minisci-type addition in an aqueous solution.
