Working within the strict constraints of pixel art was inspiring, so I've been extending this mindset to other mediums. I just got a set of oil pastels, a medium I previously saw as too limiting. Now I'm excited to try it out.

Getting lost in the details isn't possible in pixel art, especially on small canvases. Learning to simplify shapes has made my traditional art more intentional and clean.

I used to pick too many colors, and always felt like I didn't have enough markers/pencils/paints. Now I prepare my palette in advance and find creative ways to bridge the shades, rather than adding new ones. Result: more cohesive works, better and more creative shading.
