Materials Science consultant, more likely to be talking about mountain bikes, dinosaurs or cars.
My Cheshire village is slowly being isolated as the bridges over little streams get damaged and the council is unable to fix them until at least next year.

I should add it probably is true of older, pre-steel truss rod instruments, which will warp being just wood.

I’ve always suspected this is nonsense, the truss rod is already under plenty of tension and leaning it applies very little force, it’s not going to yield and it won’t creep unless your rickenbackers on fire.

The real reason not to lean them is they inevitably fall over and break a tuning head.

I’ve always wondered if it’s because they’re lazy, because most papers are paywalled, or because they know they (at best) massively over simplify any science story.

Nothing gets you in the Xmas spirit more than putting up the lights and casual infanticide in a kids movie.

How long were you parked up in a lay-by exactly?
November 20, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Exactly, the ISO date standard isn’t the US one, and I’ve complained on here before about their insistence on using *F even in quite technical applications.

Presumably from the same magic zero-development-cost parts bin that Jaguar should get their 3-series competitor from?

Hang on, you’re still missing “you can’t hose out the interior” still
October 29, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Let me guess, it should also be RWD, sub 1200kg and also £25K?

You’ve got the best already, it’s the Gannet, no submissions required.

They also always imply that STEM subjects are worthwhile, while ignoring the fact that actual engineers in the country get paid bobbins relative to our international peers.

F-4 Phantom, it’s ugly, and the upturned wing tips are a lazy solution.

Same question as with the 5 - are you be able to get a rear-facing seat in the back without the passenger sitting on the dash? Or a smallish adult behind you?
September 25, 2025 at 12:50 PM
Oh god the pre-credits sequence will be his parents dying won’t it.
September 24, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Yep, the same as guitar shops, I expect it’s also frustration with people who come in with no intention of buying the big thing the shops sells.

That said, absolutely no excuse for not having stock of typical service items for the only brand you sell, Looking at you Specialised Concept store!

A festival with only Slade cover bands is the most you thing ever.

Apparently just 9 people have built the engines for them, what they don’t mention is that they were actually 9 generations of the same family.
