Pharoah Sanders born on October 13, 1940 passed away on September 24, 2022. Sanders was considered to have been a disciple of Coltrane. Albert Ayler said, "Trane was the Father, Pharoah was the Son, I am the Holy Ghost.”

Iconic trumpeter, big band bandleader, composer, arranger, and educator, Gerald Wilson was born on September 4, 1918, and passed on September 8, 2014. Wilson is considered a major innovator in jazz music, although he didn’t get the attention that some other big band leaders received.

Hank Mobley born on July 7, 1930 passed on May 30, 1986. He was a tenor saxophonist and composer. At age 19 he performed with Dizzy Gillespie and Max Roach. Throughout his career, he performed and recorded with many jazz artists. For 14 years, he recorded on Blue Note.
