@iaspm_official #paris2025 you were brilliant. An awful lot of behind the scenes and on the ground work went into making this conference accessible, diverse, welcoming, and intellectually stimulating, and it did not disappoint. Academic rockstars round every corner. 💪

Had a great week at Rockfield studios in Monmouth with the Pro7ect team, writing and recording songs. My wordsmith abilities were put to the test with allegedly (day 1), paradoxical intention (day 2), and purgatory (day 3) 😂.

What a beautiful week in the Scottish highlands writing songs with amazing people. Thank you all for sharing your time and space, and for the wonderful music making I’ve been privileged to witness and be part of.

We had an absolutely brilliant @royalmusical.bsky.social Pathways to Publication event yesterday, held at UoBristol’s Victoria Rooms. Thanks so much to the speakers who gave freely of their time and insights, and all IRL and virtual participants who were so attentive and had some great questions.

Donned a square hat again today, this time for my MA in Creative Writing from the UoBristol #bristolgrad.
Yesterday heard Jacob Collier and Chris Thile at Bristol Beacon.
Flying visit to Edinburgh earlier this week to examine a PhD. What a week!

Having a leisurely transfer in Schiphol en route to the DWB camp in Belgium. What is this madness?! I even have time for lunch and a coffee and to finish a review 😊

What a week at the Knoydart Retreat. Did some ethnographical observation, wrote some songs, and made some friends.

This picture captures the experience I think: taken from the house where we stayed, ate, wrote and played, that’s me conducting a qualitative interview with one of the participants.

Happy to be here at Rhythm Changes, listening to the Reflecting on Jazz (Studies) panel. Fascinating talk by Michael Duch on how we address the gender imbalance in jazz education
