Nobody under 18 should have unrestricted access to the internet. They should only be able to access age appropriate services. The BBFC still certifies films for us and yet we give our kids a free for all access to the lowest possible standard.

I understand, but you can't say that to the parents of children who've taken their lives after using social media. Musk want X to be a platform, something no social medial platform has yet been, and I don't think it's appropriate for some of the activity that X is currently used for today.

Freedom of speech means I am allowed to express my own opinion on Christianity, it doesn't mean they aren't allowed to ask me to leave the church afterwards or that they should be forced to listen to me.

If the platform is a service then it has every right to provide a tailored view, e.g. for children, to comply with laws in multiple countries simultaneously, or just to meet a particular theme, facebook was originally a digital version of the book you are given when you leave high-school in the USA.

If the service is a platform, simply relaying messages it should require a legal identity when registering with an address to send the lawyers to. It should make it clear with registering the account who is legally responsible, and it should be obvious that it's inappropriate for children to use.

Free speech does not equal freedom from consequences. Like how in USA you are free to own a gun, but it's still a crime to shoot people. Either the individual or the platform is responsible for the speech that is published. Musk is turning X into a platform where there is no legal responsibility.
