You are 1000% correct. Being poor is expensive as hell. I legitimately was ready to die due to a staph infection rather than have somebody in my family have a bill hanging over their head for it.

I can't even begin to fathom using $5 on a single booster pack when I'm struggling as bad as I am. And I'm not even one of the worst off. I hope that sinks in for people. In a month, I can't spare $5 for a pack of cards, and I'm not even close to being the worst off.

Is just crazy to me that he refused to accept any help. We went months without heat or AC, sometimes no electricity(that was rare). Right now, again, I've got no heat or AC. I don't have money to sustain a hobby. I've not been able to buy MTG in years, just do random trading when I can.

As someone who has been poor his entire life, thank you for speaking up. We never had welfare when I was a child. My dad was too proud to accept it. Free/reduced lunch for his 3 kids? No chance, he wasn't taking handouts. Now, knowing how badly we needed it back then and how much it wild have helped
