Getting some weird looks in this cafe as I crank the sound of 350+ bagpipers knocking out It's a Long Way to the Top by AC/DC in the heart of Melbourne... a hearty horns up to all those who strapped on the kit and kilt and set a new world record, perfect intro for AC/DC to play the MCG tonight...

Not one of my mainland Chinese students expressed any interest in it this week (or last night), the Ali Baba-owned SCMP in Hong Kong gave it no coverage (compared to front page live updates in the past)… a few Aussies were keen - anyone else curious about the lack of interest in Singles Day?

I’ve said this time and again - if the Hong Kong headline says a signal was “hoisted” I want pictures of actual hoisting, otherwise it’s just “posting” with hoist characteristics…

Nice to see the Australian consul general in Hong Kong stepping up to support the HK pride parade via their Facebook page - HongKongers do love a dress up… might be a bit cool for hot pants and arseless chaps in late November but we can hope 🌈
