It’s such a weird non linear process. One day you feel you’re not making progress and then bam, you understand effortlessly. That was how it was for me with a full 100% French immersion for many months with 0 English spoken or heard.

For me comprehension came first. Speaking fluently later.

That’s fascinating. How’s the accent? Is it something you still work on and improves or it’s kind of fixed now? Always used to envy the bilingual who got two languages for free, not any more. Mastery of another language as an adult is a beautiful thing.
