Also a solid data point in favour of ranked ballots, but it'll be twenty years before we can re-open that discussion I bet

Agreed! If you're building stuff to do stuff at the most delicate level of stuff, you'll build some cool tools! But "there could be some cool spin-offs" is not always a satisfying answer when people ask about impact

Agreed that it can be done. But if saying "no" to things like this is off the table (which it often is), focusing on things tangential to QI is much preferable to promoting hype about q algs in hospitals

I mean, at the root, get government agencies who view impact outside of 3-5 narrow silos and are willing to take "not much" as an answer for how quantum will intersect with various sectors, and don't view the number of these sorts of things as a metric for success

Seems like the science being highlighted at the event is MRI research, not QC. I still give it 10 minutes before someone says something about "optimized patient scheduling"

And finally, The Beekeeper, in which Jason Statham protects the hive.

I Saw the TV Glow: In which a particular trans experience is distilled through memories of the weird shit we saw on TV after dark when we were 11, and in which there is still time.

Hundreds of Beavers: In which the spirit of the Looney Tunes lives on and thrives

Dominion is really bad, but at least it's also really goofy

Fallen Kingdom over Lost World is mostly me being a sucker for movies that can be called "a hoot"

Entanglion: Not without creativity, but falls victim to the age-old issue with quantum-inspired games: probability just doesn't make for fun mechanics

We have decided Mario Kart is more in-keeping with the season

Considering when that movie came out, it's an early pioneer in quantum computing bullshit
