I was disappointed to see that he was last week’s guest on @npr.org’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me”. I skipped it.

I commented the same thing on the article 🤣🤣🤣

Y’all are overdue for some brown folks.

Or maybe it’s because all the cheating that he did/encouraged?

Seriously though, couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

So did the left just predict the future or was @jonrauch.bsky.social just too dumb, unwilling, and/or unaffected to acknowledge the obvious sooner?

All together now: A DUH

Remember, cheap streaming was their answer to piracy.

So if it’s no longer the answer then…

It’s a calculation that we’re all aware of, even if we aren’t used to saying it out loud.

It might seem to be savvy but IMHO the dems’ largest issue since the (Bill) Clinton era has been focus grouping things to death instead of listening to the base and having the courage to do the unexpected.

Free speech absolutists…

Interesting, so what you’re saying is that lying and stochastic terrorism aren’t the “right way” to do politics?

Definitely a departure from the rest of your editorial section.

I hope that there is some mention in this piece about this population decline alarmism being at least somewhat correlated to the infinite expansion demanded by shareholder capitalism: Perpetual incremental growth OR cancerous growth, if you will.

Would have read myself but it’s gated 🤷‍♂️

Was not aware of Perfect Fit. Thanks for flagging this!

Amazing that in our media landscape this is a refreshing take.

Apparently no legacy media understands that an act of violence can be condemned without celebrating the life of a bigot.

Yes and none. Peace and love.
September 14, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Nope, you most certainly are the argumentative one.

You’re kinda right, of course, but why even start this argument? Save that energy for the unadulterated, 100% pure fascists.

I think these comments have done a great job pointing out the many things wrong w/ this piece, but I agree that a problem the left has is shrinking its tent by being reflexively antagonistic to entire populations of people and, frankly, being pretty annoying about purity tests and policing language.

Ezra Klein is essentially a Trojan horse for far right ideas sneaking into the left.

The “It Could Happen Here” podcast from Cool Zone did an episode earlier this week about how his whole “Abundance” movement is funded by Koch Industries and similar corporate ghouls.

This is what I’ve been thinking. The rush to act like he was “practicing politics the right way” (quote from @ezraklein.bsky.social’s NY Times op ed today) is pretty misguided. He was a liar and a bigot and he wanted violence done onto his enemies. He didn’t deserve this but no need to canonize him.

Bernard Montgomery Sanders?

But he’s getting sponsors tomorrow because he just left those cops in his dust.
