My guess is most artists pay, for the second time, to have their album re-distributed. So distributor is happy. Then we have Spotify’s policy where tracks must hit 1000+ streams for royalties. Re-distributed albums start from scratch. So that’s now 2000 streams, per track, artist doesnt get paid for

My 2023 album ‘Loved and Lost and Found’ was pulled in July due to “irregular streaming activities.” Spotify told me to take it up with my distributor, CD Baby, who were unable to provide me with any specifics as to why the album was pulled. No appeal process. Poof tens of thousands of streams gone.
