Man I did get those confused. Its all so confusing. Your site helps make it understandable. Thank you for all you do. Bottom line is Rubio and Repubs looked for ways to sabotage ObamaCare instead of trying to make it work like Repubs in Massachusetts did.

Even more maddening is the Repubs went after the CSRs because they were temporary and were there to help the markets achieve stability. But the CSRs that Repubs put into Medicare Advantage were made permanent by the same Repubs calling ObamaCare’s CSRs a bailout. Maddening hypocrisy!!

Specifically it was Marco Rubio who went after the CSRs back in the day by calling them a “bailout for the insurance companies”(sound familiar?) This was soon after the mortgage crisis that Repubs triggered right before Obama was elected so calling something a bailout made it sound toxic as hell.

Dems supported CSRs, put them in the ACA, Marco Rubio called them a bailout for insurance companies and Trump stopped making the CSR payments in 2017 leading to both a rise in premiums but also to “silver loading”(look it up)so the idea that Repubs want CSRs and Dems don’t is a GD baldfaced lie.
