Oh yeah time to share my old Footfall tweets
My tweet states "suddenly suspect I'm not going to enjoy the novel Footfall" above a picture of a page from the book containing a rant about Democrats cutting NASA funding but wasting money on welfare and a racist depiction of a Pakistani traffic driver driving erratically. Second tweet states: "imagine only describing a family maid as "Haitian" but also taking time to explain that the ornate mansion she works in is just barely too young to have ever been staffed by slaves. Why is any of this in a book about the entire planet being invaded by space elephants?" A second page from the book describes the shock/tidal waves from an asteroid impact devastating the near east, and one of the protagonists thinks "that's the end of OPEC" with "a flash of vindictive triumph" My tweet reads, "Just absolutely ghoulish. Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle are racist ghouls. It's an embarrassment to the entire SF community that this doesn't get stated every time they're mentioned."
