Mildly hilarious that New York/New Jersey is probably the only region in the country excluding North Carolina where Duke, a tiny private school, has more alumni than Alabama, a flagship SEC school

Top left 2-3 quadrant: Georgia has come close all year to a marquee win -- a draw with Florida State, one goal losses to North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Texas and Arkansas. I have little doubt they'll hang around with Wake if they meet. But are the close calls just who they are?

Top left 1-4 quadrant: Virginia played against all six teams that qualified for the ACC tournament. Their final record? 1-5, with an aggregate goal difference of -10. USC is a beatable top seed (haven't won a game by multiple scores since October 5). But I just don't think UVA is the team to do it.

Bottom left 2-3 quadrant: I want to think this Arkansas team has what it takes to finally break through and snap their postseason soccer woes. But a possible Ro16 matchup with a Stanford team that's got the tournament experience and technical skill to not back down from their press scares me

Bottom left 1-4 quadrant: If an upset of a top four seeded team happens this year, I think Milwaukee over Notre Dame would be my long-shot guess to forecast it

Bottom right 2-3 quadrant: This isn't a College Cup BYU squad but their 5-0 thrashing of Oklahoma State in the first round of the Big 12 tournament makes me think this team still has enough postseason juice to give North Carolina a legitimate test in the second round

Top right 2-3 quadrant: UCLA hadn't scored 2+ goals in a game against a tournament team since September, and then they did it in back-to-back games to win the Big Ten semis and finals. An aberration, or has the attack rounded into shape at just the right time?
