I am an advocate in the United States for infrastructure & transportation improvements which will save lives, for not just for the drivers of motor vehicles, but also the most vulnerable road users such as bicyclists, pedestrians and the disabled.
I am encouraging you to follow Families for Safe Streets (FSS) @fam4safestreets.bsky.social. In the days after Robyn's death, Chana Widawski of FSS got in touch with me, offering their support. On July 9th, 2019, there was a Mass Die-In in NYC with those from FSS, in part to recognize my daughter.

I was glad to see Minnesota Governor Tim Walz @governorwalz.mn.gov here on Bluesky. With all of the nightmares the incoming Trump Administration is bringing, it was good to step back a moment and remember him, his wife Gwen, daughter Hope and son Gus. This is what could have been, should have been.

I'd like to encourage you to follow Wyatt Gordon @yitgordon.bsky.social. He is an advocate for housing, safe transit & urbanism, here in the United States. His path is now taking him to Berlin Germany to address housing there. You can read some his previous writing here:

Streets designed for everyone are lifelines, not just pathways. It’s about ensuring people of all abilities can move freely and independently. Equitable mobility means creating safe, accessible streets where everyone, from wheelchair users to pedestrians and cyclists, can navigate with dignity.

A thread on losing a child to road violence. 🧵

I can empathize with Jane & Guy Gaudreau, the parents of Johnny & Matthew, on the loss of their 2 sons, half of their children, on August 29th. My 20-year-old daughter Robyn was killed bicycling June 24th, 2019 doing messenger work in New York City. /1

Don’t forget Valencia, Spain.

Don’t forget those who insisted that actions needed to avoid the #ClimateCrisis were “too expensive.”

Don’t forget all the record-breaking, historic or “100 year” events we’ve seen lately.

They’re not the “new normal.

It’s going to keep getting exponentially worse.
