Thinking on this, it is kinda weird how chill a *shit ton* of SFF is chill with Manifest Destiny being so deeply embedded into its culture. Like you've got one of the biggest authors in-genre going "Brigham Young was actually cool" when Young was a full-throated "we need to kill all the natives" guy
