Childless cat lady; author (jayellwilson.blogspot.com) of books (https://books2read.com/rl/JLWilsonReadingList); from IA (NL, WI, MI briefly), PA, MN, IA (again); a blue dot surrounded by a red sea; random thoughts often generated; always #amwriting
I don't watch the news. The only online news I read is local, which has a summary of national. I use the filter here on BSky so I don't see T's name in any posts. I believe in karma & I think shit will hit the fan eventually. We have to hang on until then.

I remember an old motto the CS folks had at the software company where I worked: "Customers First: Fix the customer and everything will be fine." I have always tried to treat maids, wait staff, and customer service with respect because I have done those jobs & they are tough. I will never forget.

Whoa, no wonder you're stressing! Maybe this one will be the outlier for you and will be easy-peasy. I've only had a couple of surgeries (hip replacements) and each time was simple: one was outpatient & for one I stayed overnight. Sending good energy your way!

I don't mind hospitals at all. In fact, I've stayed in many a one (as a patient and as a caregiver). Just make sure that HelpMe button is within easy reach and you'll be fine. Oh, and make friends with your nurse. He/She is Your Best Buddy for 24 hours.

Yep, I have 40+ books in print. My complete list is here: books2read.com/rl/JLWilsonR.... My next one comes out in March. I also lead workshops on writing & publishing at local libraries.

That makes sense. I have filters set up and reminders set to check the various file folders at least once a week. Otherwise, yeah, it can get overwhelming.

I'm surprised your email client kept up with 17K emails. I had a friend who didn't moniitor her email inbox and the service canceled her account because of no action on her part for so long.

The list, which we all know, will never be completed in my lifetime because

(1) I am in the 4th Quarter of life (not at the 2-Minute Warning yet!) and time is getting short &

(2) I am a writer & I want to read people whose style won't leak into my style.

But still ... so much fun.

Like I've said before, I don't follow anyone; I use lists to 'follow' people. I think the whole metric of 'how many followers do you have' is kinda creepy.

I alternated between the audio & the written text, so it was good. I could hear the voices in my head as I read. I think the wrap-up for the characters was all good and I was pleased at Creel's demise (icky though it was).

We've had CSAs off and on for years; one thing that is cool about it is that you are almost required to learn to cook with new ingredients you never tried before. I mean, cabbage: so much cabbage. And so many new & tasty recipes!

If it's anything at all like getting a new hip, it's simple, relatively painless, and easy to recover from. However, I did support my mother through two knee replacements and the recovery PT was tough. Doable, but tough.

After two hip replacements, yeah, that's my biggest worry during weather like this.

Mute and go. That's my motto

The nearest iMax is a 2-hour drive, so it would be an overnight trip (because of afternoon start time for movie, traffic, and meals, and I hate night driving). Much more than $21 (unless I use points for the hotel).

I have a reward card thing that I can use to get $6 tickets and $5 popcorn, so ... no excuse not to go!

My sister & I will probably go next week to see it. We loved the first one (saw it twice). I love the Real Movie Theater experience for some films, and this is one of them. Oh, and buttered popcorn. And M&Ms. Essential.

It might put a lot of CPAs out of business ... but I think it's a great idea. In fact, why prorate it? Just make it across the board, 1% tax. Surely that would equal what is paid now because billionaires pay so little?

I forgot to add: when you create your list, you can 'pin' it to the side panel/top tab or not. I tend to pin everything and sort them according to most-viewed.
November 23, 2025 at 3:10 PM
But if I want to see all that someone posts, I need to go to their profile to see a full list, not just the most recent thing (I think that's how it works).

Just FYI for anyone else using Lists.
