I tell people I’m fine because they don’t know what to say to the truth. Societal conventions aren’t set up that way. There’s an uncomfortable feet shuffle and awkward looks and silence.

No, no, the UK had dibs after Romania. It was all agreed. We have a warrant out for him and his brother’s arrest. They were meant to come here and get arrested again but they fled to America. Send them home to Blighty. The police would like a word.

Yes, we have a warrant out for his arrest-and his brother’s. We’ll meet them at the airport with open handcuffs. He was meant to be deported straight to the UK once Romania were done with him and his brother to be arrested again, but they fled to America.

Deport him back to the UK. Scotland Yard were meant to have a word or two with him after Romania were done with him. There was an agreement. Our police had dibs on his and his brother’s arrest on entry into the country. We’ll welcome them both home with open handcuffs.
