Oh, man, so much goodness to be excited about in 2026! At least five (including this) @aptshadow.bsky.social releases that I’m aware of. Plus, @fondalee.bsky.social The Last Contract of Isako, a new Ana and Din Mystery by RJB, and Ray Nayler’s Palaces of the Crow—just for a shortlist haha

At least Dach could be back in the next couple weeks. Not a huge boon, but any offensive help is a plus at this point

@sgj.bsky.social’s The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and Ray Nayler’s Where the Axe Is Buried both blew my mind to smithereens earlier this year.

Both brilliantly written, haunting, and deftly weave in topical social commentary.

Check Marijannah; stoner/doom from Singapore. Bloodsucker is a good jumping in point. Rips.

Also, Dr. Colossus; Simpsons-themed stoner/doom. Pickabar shreds.

I would sell you my soul for that copy of Walking to Aldebaran. Only Terrible Worlds entry I’m missing ☹️

Through my teens I’d head down to Hood in the summer for alpine ski race training on those snow fields near the summit. They’re looking pretty thin these days.

Oh, man, that’s like being asked to pick a favourite child. Novel? Nathan Ballingrud’s Wounds. Author? @sgj.bsky.social

Can’t wait! Do you know if anyone (besides @subpress.bsky.social) will be tackling special, signed trade editions? Wouldn’t mind matching my Illumicrate edition of Witch King 👀

Juggling Richard Paul Russo’s Ship of Fools and Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils. Finding the former hard to put down and the latter a bit tough to pick up.

Seems like a perfect time to say thanks, again, for making my copy a little more palatable!
April 26, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Gotta be Nathan Ballingrud’s Wounds
April 24, 2025 at 9:19 PM
I think it has to be @sgj.bsky.social newest, The Buffalo Hunter Hunter
April 3, 2025 at 4:22 PM
Will this be signed by the author?

Total pain in the ass (esp. if your other financial products sit with this bank), but maybe check with other banks?

A number of banks here in Canada have dedicated “Arts & Culture” teams that help self-employed artists, musicians, etc. navigate hurdles like this. Maybe something similar in the US?
