@jamesthefourth.bsky.social just really want to say: I kinda hate you because you’re too fucking good. The Deviant was so good and compelling straight through, never caught a single twist. Seriously you’re too fucking good at this, my hate comes from jealousy. My love comes from pure admiration.

My wife asked me to slow down on the comic buying last night. Then these show up today. @davekellett.bsky.social it’s a nice looking stack of books. I’d like to pitch that Em is the bestest over Gloria as she’s most likely not going to murder me when she sees this.

One of the end bits of my comic workshops is I tell kids that: if you want to make comics you have to read comics. And I show them this picture. This is ~1320 graphic novels and trades. The first was Anne Nocenti & John Bolton’s Someplace Strange which I bought in 1988. Of those here: 11 are unread.

“A Father’s Demise” a Risk Demon short comic. Art by Itai Weinberg. It was an idea that the visuals just stuck in my head. Used this as a tryout script with artists.
