Had this at a 6/10 before this rewatch but honestly the movie is just so fucking stupid and ridiculous it can't help but be entertaining. Also RIP Ben the Cow, you were a real one.

Enjoyable movie and it's easy to see why it's hailed as a classic with the performances of Toshiro Mifune as Takezo/Musashi and Kaora Yachigusa as Otsu. The former wants honor in death and glory and the latter wants honor in love.

Good movie with eye-catching cinematography, great production design, and an intriguing premise but I expected more from watching it fully. It felt like the long run time was building up to something a bit more with the Kagemusha (Shadow Warrior) besides the ending->

A very memorable character roster and entertaining action are what define this very influential movie. The personalities of the seven samurai warriors and even some of the farmers all feel distinct from one another and makes you feel invested in them
