So the "red flag" has nothing to do with the quality of the movie and whether it'll be good or entertaining, but the number of YouTube views of the trailer. Sigh.

As measures of screwing with go, releasing on streaming rather than theaters seems pretty mild

That not everything about the Gorn has been explained is clear, and more info is needed to reconcile their various behaviors.
December 23, 2025 at 5:39 PM
Clearly everything they do is not biological, as we have a whole episode about that (out of 5 total appearances in SNW). Ignoring 20% of our evidence because it doesn't fit your argument is absolutely supposition, and a poor one at that.
December 23, 2025 at 5:38 PM
This is your supposition. We don't know the Gorn don't impose or spread that ideology, or that they don't believe in it as adults. "Terrarium" contradicts your arguments about the Gorn depictions, & rather than try to reconcile them you disregard it.

The episode where a Gorn saves Ortegas and they forge an awkward friendship sends its regards. Sure, it ends badly due to prejudice, but it's pretty clear that Gorn aren't all irredeemably evil. Also, the Gorn's survival of the fittest through constant competition is an ideology, tho not a great one

Bill Watterson wouldn't even let them make merch. He signs off on that happening when Hell freezes over twice

Than the Galaxy? I can't agree.

You can find fault with all the new Trek shows if you like, but "doing their duty as best they could see how, through a deep sense of devotion to cause and morality" is still extremely relevant in all of them.

Jörg, your positive attitude and excitement for Star Trek are always a joy to me!
December 4, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Really didn't need you to join the echo chamber pile-on. Complaining about new Star Trek with almost nothing to go on? How cutting edge! Folks have only been doing that since 1987.

Naw, Dark Empire was still worse.

This is the one, people. Everyone else go home. Get Starfish a writing credit and a bag of money
November 11, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Oh boo to you, it was still good
November 9, 2025 at 12:47 AM
I take your point here Starfish, but if you're saying the Oblivion remaster is the best game of 2025 you really need to try more games. Going by Metacritic score it doesn't even crack the top *hundred*
November 5, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Games do this all the time though. Near the beginning, Baldur's Gate 3 makes you think you maybe have a few days before squidification.
November 3, 2025 at 3:19 AM
I think you're maybe as wrong as the OP but it's close

Everything the Witcher author has ever said in the press makes me think he's kind of a dick. Maybe he's lovely in person, but that's my impression

100% of challengers in the rite of succession got stabbed to death by Worf. I don't like your odds
November 1, 2025 at 3:37 AM
Not what I'm intending, no. It shouldn't be an adversarial process, players vs DM. If one player is causing problems "for the lulz," as was discussed elsewhere in this thread, address it out of game, ultimately by booting them if necessary.
October 31, 2025 at 9:31 PM
The dice's story isn't a very interesting one though, IMO. Where would ongoing fiction be without waking up a prisoner in the villain's lair, or tied to their deathtrap? Rescue by someone who demands a service, forced to work for the kingdom, or a shady patron? All of these are more fun than a TPK.
October 31, 2025 at 8:17 PM
In your example of murdering for the lulz, the DM should've intervened before it got to that point and spoken to/booted that player. In Starfish's example of death by werewolves miscommunication, the DM also should've intervened when they realized instant party death wasn't what they were going for
