Back home from The Wash House Garden - morning was focused on harvesting and packing peas 🫛, sorting turnips, picking sage and chopping down comfrey and weeds.

After the Jobcentre, returned to sow some courgettes 🥒 and Dwarf French beans 🫘 then picked up my 2nd veg bag.

My first veg box/ bag from The Wash House Garden
If this is the regular one, I'm glad I didn't opt for the large!

Lots of delicious organic produce - I'm already cooking off the radish and turnip tops for supergreens to have with pasta later along with the radish and salad and peas.

Home from my volunteer session 10-3 with the Gay Gardeners at The Wash House Garden.
Today was harvesting for the veg boxes - lovage, mangetout peas, herbs, salad - and weeding among the beans, potatoes and in the food forest herbs. Lots of life abounding.

Took a short trip down to my wee plot of land in between rain showers today.
Planted out some Romanesco broccoli and cabbage as well as my King Of The Early Dwarf French beans from Seeds of Scotland.
Raked over the plot to remove new weed growth and picked up fallen leaves.

Windowsill gardening 🪴

🌱 Potted the Okra into bigger pots
🌱 Repotted the basil and put some in with the tomatoes 🍅 as companion plants
🌱 Decided to leave the Dwarf French Beans in situ for now
🌱 The leeks are coming on well
🌱 Glad to see some shoots in the Icelandic Chives, Woad and Korean mint

Another good and chill session at The Wash House Garden. Today we cleared the raised bed of greens that had sprouted and were choking out the wheat - really pleased to see more sprouting than we'd hoped.
Readied the other two beds to plant out the squash next week.
And the rain stayed off.

Took a little trip down to my wee plot at The Pantry Garden, to see if my plants had survived the rain and wind. All looking okay so I planted the borage plants and the oriental poppy.
Spoke to Clara about poor soil condition. Didn't stay long as it was threatening rain again.

Made it home safe with my okra seedlings intact from the Glasgow Community Food Network and Glasgow Seed Library workshop.

Was told out of 100, they only expect around 23 to survive and of those, around 11 to be viable, so not to get too attached to them. But we'll see.

Do I really need another mug to add to the two I got from Tesco? Clearly no but I got it anyway.
Also picked up this plate from the same charity shop because it has Artemis on it.

Sorted my kitchen windowsill garden with the tomatoes and aubergine in a planter, ready to have basil as a companion plant once it grows plus the beans and squash repotted and the succulents beside them.

A very happy little bee that @ihave15biases.bsky.social and I spotted near the Forge Retail Park, enjoying the pollen in the white Scottish dog roses.

Not long in from The Wash House Garden - had a good day. Was making racks for the beehive with @ihave15biases.bsky.social , who popped in to visit. Then I was checking on the wheat, potting on basil seedlings and weeding paths.
Rescued turnips, microgreens and basil seedlings from being composted.

Just home from a wonderful Spring Foraging Walk with Glasgow Community Food Network and the amazing Jemima Hall.
Learned SO much in a short time.
Feeling really inspired to learn more and try things.

Oops...

This was left out by our bins.
It's complete, with all the pieces, die and cards.

If I go missing, you'll know why.
