On second thought, I don’t believe there were seals on the box of Dell laptops.

As long as the seals are intact when you’ve received it, and it’s not missing any items, and you have an actual tax invoice, I’d contact them (or better yet, contact Dell directly) to have the purchase date updated in their system.

Given that it has an express service tag, I’d hazard a guess and say it’s a Dell. If you’ve bought it from a big box retailer (i.e. not Dell), it is likely the item was put in stock long time ago.
