Jeffries isn't a disaster like Adams or Cuomo - he's still popular within his district. Osse isn't a name yet. I think any other year, we wouldn't have ANY headlines about him. But now that Mamdani has won, I think there's a concerted effort to stop even long shots before they can start

it hamstrings any challenger to the incumbent before it happens. i really think it's more about killing a candidacy and incumbent challenger before infancy than it is about the viability of Osse himself
