I normally consider myself a curmudgeon-in-training (some would say I'm fairly advanced in my studies). However, this weekend, I stuck myself in a santa suit and entertained the kids and adults. It's a very crabby-be-gone experience!

Folks, change isn't fun. Change is awful. In life, change is often necessary, but when it comes to information systems that are functional and stable, change is the enemy of uptime. Do not embrace change for change's sake. Only embrace change when you have a set of logical, requirements-driven reasons that are forcing that change upon you. It's a lesson I thought I knew, and it's been driven home yet again.

I wrote a poem on a page but then each line grew by the word sum of the previous two until I started to worry at all these words coming with such frequency because, as you can see, it can be easy to run out of space when a poem gets all Fibonacci sequency.
