The fallout from his divorce and the NYTimes article made it too much to ignore. Pretty much everything since then has only brought to light his complete lack of accountability and refusal to take steps to control his own life. Tragic but inevitable.

I was a huge fan fifteen or so years ago. Always loved Whiskeytown, and his stuff with the Cardinals was top-tier. Heartbreaker and Gold were constant companions out of the stereo speakers. I knew he was a major asshole in his personal life and I chose to "separate the artist from the music".

Mr. King, I just wanted to drop a quick comment to thank you for using your voice to publicly oppose book bans in schools. I'm a voracious reader today, partially because I ran through much of your catalog in my teenage years. It helped to develop my love of reading for fun.
