Lobster mushrooms have been abundant this year, well most years are in coastal BC. Our cohousing co-op loves my version of Lobster Mushroom Terrines. Adapted from a recipe by Alan Bergo foragerchef.com/lobster-mush... it is a lovely vegetarian dish I look forward to making every fall.

The harvest has begun. If you love quince, you can imagine the scent that is permeating the basement suite, heavenly! Next week we will start processing them.

Had to turn on the electric fence to keep this big girl out of the community garden. She knocked over our tumbler composter but luckily couldn't get into it and get a food reward. Still I will bait the fence with peanut butter today to teach her to stay out.

This year's walk for truth & reconciliation. Please share everywhere, apparently it's been hard to find. Just heard from a friend this morning he had to replace 23 orange shirts that were stolen at the beach. Make this one the biggest yet, & show the world we have more allies that racists here.

Very lucky to have a quince tree. Every year we make jelly, paste, compote, cider & fruit leather. It's a big job done over several days with a lot of helpers. These pix are from last year, we'll probably start to pick them on Sunday. Requests for more leather & membrillo have been submitted!

Are you needing a little timeline break like me? Here's some of my favourite underwater shots from 2003, scuba diving adventures, in the Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida.

Been re-watching a lot of sci fi lately. Feeling like I'm literally living in a time when all the most terrifying, alternate realities I used to enjoy as entertainment are coming true. Good to know I'm not alone.
