One of the huge perks of being Semeia editor (with @sblpress.bsky.social) is I get to read some terrific books before they get published. I got my final copy today and am so excited others get to read this wonderful book by Luis Menéndez Antuña!

I didn’t know some day I would have to go to a protest in defense of science, but here we are.

Happy holidays to those who observe them. When the inimitable Katy Scrogin, with whom I went to grad school, generously invited me on her podcast, I didn’t expect I would listen to myself discussing #BritneySpears on a Christmas morning run. plainreading.libsyn.com/innocence-an...

This phenomenal and challenging book by JanJan Lin has finally arrived. I cannot wait to sit with it even if I am terrified right now about exactly some of the issues it excavates so well, the politics of #scriptures and #migration here in the USA.

At the end of August I went to the first in a series of fun-looking conversations about the study of Scriptures, but I wished even more cool #scriptures scholars were there. I hope to see more of you online for one or more of these conversations. sowingtheseed.org/off-script/

Such a privilege to serve @SBLsite’s Semeia Studies series and get these book copies. #Reading in #TheseTimes is so critical. #BiblicalStudies.

It’s an honor being an editor for the #Semeia studies series because I get to see amazing work in #BiblicalStudies before other people do. My move delayed getting these two wonderful new books but I am so glad to see them and to be a small part of the process.
