Canadian government needs to go hard on counter tariffs. Don’t just match Trump, go way above and beyond. Really make it hurt. Run massive PSA campaigns to information public how to find alternatives for American brands and asking them to buy Canadian, and work together to defeat Trump’s bullying.

Let’s be realistic, if he called them out now, Trump would go off on one on social media together with his boyfriend Elon and it would cause a huge rift. As painful as it is, we need to work with them for the next 4 years so they have to be smart and selective about what/when they challenge things.

I think they also need to stop trying to do it all. Several years ago it seemed they were adding more and more channels/radio stations for niches that were already catered for commercially. Focus on a good core service and not trying to target every single listener or viewer.

I don’t see the objection to general taxation. Just add something like a 1% TV tax on the purchase of all new televisions or related devices to fund it and keep the management of it independent so government can’t influence content, etc.

I’m feeling the same but their darn products are so embedded into our lives 😩

I saw it Boxing Day, to be honest I went along reluctantly as I’m not really a fan of Robbie, but I loved it. Agree it’s one of those movies that will blow up in popularity from word of mouth once it’s on streaming.

I did wonder the other day how it was managing to still keep going.

Difficult to do when they are controlling social media and bending it to support the right and doing all they can to restrict misinformation, ie Zuck now getting rid of fact checking.

I wish the UK government would get some balls and delete all their accounts on there. Or if they don’t want to make a song a dance about it, leave the accounts but stop posting on them.

I’d be surprised if a few aren’t cancelled in the next decade and the others perhaps reduced to a 1-hr weekly episodes? When I see clips, all seem dated and old fashioned. The idea that half of the street or square all still regularly drink in the local pub most nights is laughable dated.
