I’m a elder Gen-X autistic. My autistic mom was a Silent, born in 1929. Her autistic father was born in the late 1800’s. Autism isn’t new, but the more loud, bright, complicated, stressful, etc. the world gets, the harder it is for autistics to cope & be functional and unnoticed.
Today on “misinformation on Facebook” - someone who doesn’t understand that the government isn’t creating NeuroDivergent People.

What some of us have always known (the USA is a meritocracy) is now being explicitly stated.
While this is awful, it also legitimizes & validates the fears & anxieties I’ve had as an intersectional minority living in the US since childhood.

a lot of my friends are trans. it took me a while to open up and see my own genderfluid identity. that was eleven years ago. i don't regret accepting this identity. if anything, it saved my life. none of my trans friends have ever said they regret transitioning. not one. we know who we are.
